The Harris Family Alternative Investments Program welcomed Jonathan Coslet, W’87, vice chair of TPG for an exclusive conversation for Wharton students on November 21.

Jonathan Coslet, who serves as Vice Chair of TPG, visited the Wharton School to offer a compelling discussion on the evolution of private equity. This speaker event allowed Wharton students interested in alternative investments to deepen their understanding of the field, engage with real-world applications, and connect with a renowned industry leader.
“It was wonderful to host Jonathan Coslet as part of the The Wharton School’s 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 —a true masterclass in the evolution of private equity. His insights on the industry’s explosive growth, the importance of macroeconomic awareness, and the power of strong leadership resonated deeply with our audience. His candid discussion of both successes and failures provided invaluable perspective on the realities of long-term investing. Jonathan’s journey—from the early days of TPG to leading a firm managing $250 billion—underscored the importance of adaptability, strategic thinking, and culture in sustaining excellence.
This event was a perfect example of the 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺’𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦, 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘵.
