Partnership with AltFinance

Burcu Esmer is Academic Director of the Wharton-AltFinance Institute. As part of the partnership between The Wharton School and AltFinance, HBCU faculty will be able to take part in a Faculty Research Fellowship at Wharton. These faculty will have the opportunity to spend a semester at Wharton during the school year under the Harris Program. They will develop their research and collaboration skills, deepening connections to other faculty members with similar interests.

Visiting faculty members are:

  • Professor Vaneesha Dutra, associate professor of finance at Howard University (LinkedIn)
  • Professor Inger Daniels-Hollar, assistant professor of finance at Florida A&M University and graduate student instructor at Florida State University (LinkedIn)

Partnership with Girls Who Invest

Girls Who Invest (GWI) is a non-profit organization committed to transforming the investment management industry by empowering and advancing women as investors, change-makers, and leaders. Burcu Esmer, the Academic Director for GWI’s Summer Intensive Program held at the Wharton campus in June, has been a member of their Advisory Board since 2018. Bilge Yilmaz also serves on the organization’s Board of Directors.
